In our quest for hardy goats we have purchased does from many different farms with similar management styles. Our base genetics come from Far View farms in WV. Does with the NAT prefix have given us lines that include direct decedents from 3LF Stargate, 3LF Graffiti, 3LF Satire and Bon Joli Z007 "Thunderball." Our senior herd sire ASHS HD is a NATS Rumblebee *ennobled* son and has created some pretty spectacular does for us. We also have lines that include Lazy S-T Outback Jack *ennobled*, AABG Status Quo *ennobled*, ANR Wide Load *ennobled* and 4Kids Buttmaster *ennobled*. Recently we added 4 kids to the herd that are sired by SQW Saywers UZI *ennobled*. We are constantly trying to improve our herd and we are excited to see what these kids can do for us.
About Us
Anitopia Acres is a small farm located in Evart, Michigan. While we have been raising boer goats for about 15 years we have just started keeping up with registrations. With our county being one of the poorest in the state our goal has been to provide affordable 4-H projects to the local kids. This is why some of our goats are dehorned and we haven't kept up on registration. Just like any farmer we want our goats to be efficient. We have selected over the years for does able to flourish on pasture. Even while lactating in the middle of winter we still push a high forage diet. Owning a dairy farm gives us access to high quality haylage which is the icing on the cake for the lactating does and pushes kids to grow. Knowing that most of our kids will be going for market projects kids are feed creep daily however as soon our “keepers” have been sorted off their diet transitions back to high forage to promote rumen growth! As we all know parasites are a very real issue in owning goats. We have implemented many management practices and also some hard culling over the years to have a herd that rarely requires deworming. We strive to produce high quality, low maintenance meat goats that will make an exceptional fit in to any herd system.
